Big futures are taking shape for High Jump’s Cohort 36. This spring, 8th grade students graduated from High Jump and are heading to outstanding high schools across Chicago and beyond — including selective enrollment (38%), independent, parochial, and boarding schools (27%).

More importantly, they’re stepping into those next chapters with confidence, preparation, and a belief in what’s possible for their futures.

College completion is crucial because research shows that finishing college means a greater chance of higher wages in the future– and with an 87% success rate, High Jump alums are graduating at a higher rate than their peers.

What is High Jump?

High Jump is a two-year, tuition-free academic enrichment program for Chicago middle school students. We combine rigorous academics, social-emotional learning, and high school choice support to help students discover their strengths, build confidence, and imagine what’s possible.

But more than a program, High Jump is a community—35 years in the making—where students find belonging, form lasting friendships, and gain the tools to thrive in high school, college, and beyond.
