Our Summer Bridge Program has officially wrapped up! Over the summer, preschool scholars spent time in their future classrooms and were introduced to kindergarten instruction, helping them feel confident and ready for this exciting next step.

Thoughtful transitions like Summer Bridge are an important part of Christopher House’s continuum of education—supporting scholars as they grow, learn, and move forward on their educational journeys.

What makes you, YOU?

Earlier this year, our After School scholars explored that question through a special project called The History of Us, where they celebrated their identities by sharing family stories, traditions, recipes, and memories while learning about the beauty of one another's cultures.

As After School educator Ms. Nancy shared, "By having these hard conversations with them, we show them not only to be brave and take their power back, but also how to find the beauty of life in even the darkest moments."

At Christopher House, we believe every child's story matters. By creating spaces where scholars feel seen, valued, and proud of who they are, we're building a stronger community—together.

Every child deserves to start the school year feeling prepared, confident, and excited to learn. 🎒📚

That's why we're so grateful to RBC for their continued partnership. This summer, RBC donated $5,000 and welcomed Christopher House to their office, where dedicated volunteers packed 144 backpacks filled with school supplies—including 56 backpacks for our Pre-K graduates as they prepare for kindergarten.

This is the third year RBC has supported this initiative, and we're thankful for their commitment to helping our scholars begin each school year ready to thrive.

What are you most excited about in the new school year?

As summer comes to a close, we're celebrating the new beginnings ahead for our kindergarten and 8th grade graduates. Whether they're stepping into a new classroom or starting high school, each milestone is the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

As Principal Stephanie Glover Douglas shared, "Graduation is a celebration of every challenge our scholars have overcome, every goal they've achieved, and every opportunity that lies ahead."
