This fantastic photo was taken by our very own Director of Partnerships, Erin Murphy, just this last week during the Paris Olympics
While there, Erin found herself cheering for unexpected Olympians from around the world, and becoming a super fan of the Chinese tennis player Qinwen Zheng. It reminded her of an important lesson: there’s a lot of joy in rooting for people with different backgrounds and lived experiences.

With summer in full swing, you might start to get a few more moments of rest. But if you’re fighting burnout, instead of resets, these breaks might reveal how exhausted and overloaded you’ve become at work. Building resilience is more important for you now than ever.
A few years ago, we led an experiment called Playlists, where we designed bite-sized learning experiences meant to fit easily into the day of a busy learner. We focused on a key skill for the modern workplace: resilience.
As our June 29th Gift to you, we’re sharing some of our most impactful Resilience Playlist experiences for free.
They’ll help you combat burnout, recenter on your values, and build protection against future stress. Swipe through to read a bit more about how these exercises work, and how you can slot them into your day-to-day.

It’s a big day at Experience Institute.
In 2012, Victor started Ei fresh off the heels of his self-designed masters. Over a dozen years later, the company has evolved and matured, becoming an independently owned, financially sustainable business that’s healthier than ever.
And now, it’s time for our next chapter of growth. Next week, Victor will be stepping down as CEO and shifting his role to Chairman of the Board. And the really exciting news is that our incoming CEO is our one and only Sara Loncka!
Over the past three years, Sara has helped grow Ei’s workplace learning business. Under her care, our learning experiences have become more rigorous, impactful, and memorable. Ei is in great hands.
Head to our blog to read our full announcement welcoming Sara as our CEO. And, share your thoughts by leaving a note for our team at the link in our bio.
We’re excited to keep leaping with you. Happy Wednesday!

Finding the space to listen to your team is key, especially when you’re supporting them through world events. Take some time this week to acknowledge what’s happening in the world, and to talk to your team about where their minds are. It’ll help you build deeper trust and openness, no matter what work you’re doing together.

Our team is distributed across the globe. So we plan all types of offsites and retreats to spend time together. Beyond those formal gatherings, we look for ways during our travels to simply break bread and catch up. Recently, one of our colleagues, Katie Crain, and Victor got to catch up during an especially challenging life circumstance. They swapped stories from both of their experiences and found bright spots during their conversations. Friends and colleagues for nearly 10 years, these two are practicing one of Ei’s core values — that high-performing teams don’t just work together, they care about each other.

It’s nice to fit in and float. But if you’re just following others’ currents, you’ll realize soon that you’ve drifted far away from your own values and goals.
Instead, try picking a direction and *swimming*. It’ll take energy to move against others’ waves, but staying true to you will always be worth it in the end.
Which direction are you swimming?

Our team at Ei has recently grown by one more. Meet Amelia, Ei’s new Director of Program Delivery!
Amelia has been designing and facilitating immersive, transformative professional learning experiences since 2010. She cut her teeth as a leader and designer when she co-founded and directed the Bayview Science Institute alongside San Francisco public school teachers. In her 8 years at the California Academy of Sciences, Amelia built expertise in coaching, work process improvement, and leading inclusive teams.
When she’s not guiding teams through impactful experiential programs, Amelia loves geeking out about wildflowers, learning new languages, and dancing two-step. She’s even gone to circus camp, and did an ice-cream tasting tour of the US via bicycle!
We are so grateful to have Amelia on our team, and can’t wait to share all the special projects she’ll be a part of this coming year. 🌟

A few weeks ago, we held our Ei Q1 retreat in Chicago, bringing together our usually remote team together for deep work, connection, and fun. But what exactly makes an experience like this meaningful?
In this week’s Wednesday Words, .sara shares the nuts and bolts of what makes an offsite impactful in part one of our two part retreat series.
