Moving on up! đ The Princeton Review ranked our undergrad game programs 25th (up 3 slots) and our grad programs 18th (up 5 slots)! At CDM, game study is a truly interdisciplinary experience. Students from all three schools (Design, Computing, and Cinematic Arts) develop games collaboratively, gaining hands-on, real-world experience in facilities like DePaul Originals Game Studios, the Jarvis Innovation Center, and a host of game research and development labs.
âOur students are taught essential game design skills, are challenged to think creatively, and ultimately collaborate across our game design, game programming, and game art programs,â says associate professor and undergraduate game design chair Lien Tran. âItâs quite unique to have these dedicated programs work together: it really elevates the game projects.â

CDMâs School of Design has once again been named a Top Design School by GD USA Magazine !
Our program prepares students to communicate to diverse audiences through a wide range of design practices, integrating emerging media and contemporary technologies including typography, interaction design, branding, illustration, motion graphics, package design, programming, and digital fabrication. But learning extends far beyond the classroom, where students have the opportunity to collaborate with community organizations, work on funded projects with social impact, and take advantage of spaces like the Print Lab, Idea Realization Lab and Jarvis Innovation Center.
Check out our School of Design Showcase on June 11! Work from graphic design students will be on display at the Chicago Design Museum. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2026-depaul-school-of-design-student-showcase-tickets-1989032418507?aff=ebdsoporgprofile
