The sun came out (finally!) for last night’s Chasing the Light opening 🌞 illuminating the gorgeous landscape paintings of Kristin Hosbein, Mary Broccolo-Derr, and Kathy Blankenhein.

You never know who you’re gonna bump into in the Benton Harbor Arts District. Last night, it was local legend Mamie Yarborough, my daughter’s favorite high school teacher Mr.Wismer, and yogi/wine goddess Lesli Clarke. Always lovely to spend time with my girls Candice and Anna, too. So much creativity and goodness in this community!

In honor of Autism Awareness Month, Feature Teacher Maria Rosner is shining a bright light on autism by dedicating her LIVE event on World Autism Awareness Day (4/2) to Autism Speaks.💡🧩 @yoga.maria is an incredible teacher with over 22 years of experience teaching yoga. She’s a 500 hour RYT and holds certifications in Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, and is a certified Level 2 Reiki practitioner.🧘🏻‍♀️ Maria discovered her love of yoga 25 years ago, when she was raising a young son with autism. After her son’s diagnosis, Maria made it her mission to help others better understand autism to help improve the lives of those affected by it.🙏 Besides being her son’s parent, teacher, and advocate, Maria created the Autism Awareness Project in Michigan. She took an active role in creating opportunities for students affected by autism by serving on councils and committees and created Yoga for Special Parents and Caregivers.💖 Maria’s son, Dylan, has lived independently on the West Coast since receiving his college degree and continues to defy expectations and predicted outcomes. He recently created @nevada_entrepreneurs, a networking business whose mission is to bring small business owners together in community.🤝 @autismspeaks_chicago is an amazing nonprofit dedicated to creating an inclusive world for all individuals with autism throughout their lifespan.💫 Maria will be collaborating with famous DJ Josh Young (aka @yehme2 and cofounder of Flosstradamus) to bring you a sonic symphony of movement, breath, and music.
