Over 1,000 first-year students have already registered for the Haven game. Today, the experience is entering its endgame. Have you started exploring? It's not too late to join! You can begin or continue the game here: Welcome to Haven. All chapters are now live. Starting now, on Friday, August 30 and Saturday, August 31, the final chapter of Haven will become available. For 36 hours, you can play a series of collaborative puzzles. These time-bound challenges will not be in single-player mode and can only be played with between 10 to 22 players at a time. If the UChicago community solves these puzzles, they will unlock the game's ending, which reveals the answers to many unresolved questions. You can log into the world of Haven (https://haven.academy/) using your CNetID and And click on Volcanic Island to start the final chapter.

Explore Haven’s Tidal Island, which features more public spaces than the other islands. Courses offered here explore disciplines such as anthropology, history, political science, and sociology. Some professors favor knowledge that emerges through close observation and ethnographic conversation with human subjects, while others prefer quantitative and computational approaches. Here, you might learn more about the history of Haven itself and work on your social efficiency score. Upon arrival, you’ll meet HAIL-E who will lead you through the island — with attitude.
Play Haven now to explore Tidal Island and Oceanic Island! More coming soon.

On Friday, explore Haven’s Oceanic Island, which combines an actual island with a flotilla of myriad boats. You’ll hear a cacophony of languages across these boats. If you spend time here, you’ll take courses in English, media studies, philosophy, and myriad languages. If you want to get into it, there are plenty of people who will want to debate the historical significance of The Hunger Games and the true nature of translation. You might also enjoy the virtual wonders of Plato’s Cave.

On Friday, explore Haven's Coral Island, which is a triumph of colorful experience design. This shoal commits to the design and creation of objects as a form of knowledge. The professors here favor open-ended exploration, design thinking, and collaborative group work. Among the creative spirits, you’ll meet people studying visual artist, game design, performance, and music. Be sure to visit the pink room, the hip hop room, and the sensory deprivation room. If you’re a maker or like to play games, you’ll thrive here.

On Friday, explore Haven’s Artificial Island, which was terraformed by Haven’s most talented scientists and engineers. On this shoal, you’ll find experts in a range of disciplines that use the scientific method, including astronomy, biology, computer science, and physics. The administration building has an extremely committed Chess-bot and the telescope in the Observatory is surprisingly powerful. Also, be on the lookout for some strange tiny bots created by both faculty and students.
