We'd like to thank everyone for their interest in and conclude with a final shout out to Julia Morales, who shares her experiences with working in Preservation below:

“My favorite part of working in the Conservation Lab is repairing maps. Each one is special, and requires a different treatment, so I get to learn a lot of new conservation techniques. It's also very cool to see how our understanding of areas of the world has changed, as well as the visual elements of different maps. I've been working at the lab for this whole school year, and I've really loved my time there!”

Thank you Julia!

For , we’d like to shine a light on Kaden, who works in the Conservation Lab:

“Hi! My name is Kaden and I'm a third-year History and Linguistics major in the College. I've been working on the conservation team for over a year now, which means I've gotten to work on quite a few exciting projects throughout my time. Recently, I made a model of a medieval Islamic book! I've also been working on mending the pages of a book which were in pretty poor shape and had a lot of very old tape. I really enjoy getting to work in the conservation lab, learn new technical skills, learn about book history & book arts, and bask in the Mansueto sunshine!”

Thank you Kaden!
