First Grade Bootcamp is in full swing—and last week, things erupted.
After reading "My Mouth Is a Volcano!," our first graders talked about what happens when we have something we REALLY want to say. They practiced ways to keep their “volcanoes” from erupting: waiting, listening, and making space for someone else’s important words. And, naturally, they had to make a few actual volcanoes, too 🌋
It’s all part of First Grade Bootcamp, where students are learning so much more than classroom routines. They’re practicing how to be kind friends, include others, respect personal space, solve problems, listen well, and help build a classroom where everyone feels seen and valued.
Big lessons for little learners—and a pretty fantastic way to learn them.
