Here’s a fun and easy activity to teach your toddler about their shapes! 🔶🟢🟦♥️

The tots&2’s teachers put together this fun activity that kept them engaged and focused. They used contact paper and cut out big shapes and small shapes for the toddlers to sort. This activity will help with fine motor development, as well as cognitive development.

Our 3 to 6 classroom explored butterflies this month. We ordered some caterpillars and the children kept a close eye on them as they changed from small caterpillars all the way to butterflies! They learned about what they eat, and how they form cocoons. The children also used different forms of art to express their interest in the butterflies. The children and their wonderful teacher have released them to the wild! It was a beautiful learning experience for everyone!

Developing social skills starts at infancy. It’s not only important for infants to learn to socialize with adults but also with their peers.

Some ways in which infants socialize with other infants are; by reaching out to touch other children’s faces, through sustained eye contact with their peers, by imitating the facial expressions of their friends, engaging in parallel play, and more!

At Magpie, we create a supportive, engaging, and safe space for infants to explore and learn how to interact with their infant friends. Creating early opportunities for your baby to socialize and interact with peers and other nurturing adults is critical for their social-emotional development and success in later life, and it's what we do best! 🌟

Our 3-6 classroom is working on their transportation study! Teacher Elizabeth has set up wonderful activities and opportunities for the kiddo’s to expand their interests in transportation. This week so far, they drew and decorated a road to drive their toy cars over, and when outdoors they explored helicopter seeds and pretended to be helicopters. So much fun for our 3-6 friends!

Our Tots & 2s participating in sensory pond play! Their teachers had the children make a pond for the frogs to live in. They were given water to pour, soap to clean the frogs, rocks, green pebbles, lily pads, cups, spoons, and pouring cups. A video of frogs croaking in a pond played on the projector as they played with the frogs in the water. 🐸
