The Whitney Young Robotics program is made up of students and adult mentors who are passionate about robotics, engineering, technology, and their thoughtful integration into society. Whitney Young Robotics gives its students hands-on experience in engineering, design, and project management by participating in the national FIRST robotics program. Since its inception in 2008, the Whitney Young Robo

tics program has come a long way. Over the past 4 years, our team has slowly worked towards greater and harder challenges. Our team started by participating in the FIRST Tech challenge and placed 3rd in regional competition as FTC Team 3216 in our rookie year. In late 2011, our team gained the mentorship and funding it needed to take part in the FIRST Robotics Challenge as Team 4302 – the Robophins. Under the mentorship of professional engineers as well as engineering students from Northwestern University and University of Illinois – Chicago, our team is working hard on achieving our goals.
