The Berggren Center for Quantum Biology and Medicine brings together science, engineering, and medicine to advance interdisciplinary discovery at the University of Chicago.
The quantum engineering graduate program offers interdisciplinary training across all areas of quantum information science with a focus on practical applications. The program offers flexibility to engage with quantum science and engineering across all areas of biology and medicine. Researchers at UChicago Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, supported by Q-NEXT, have developed a surprisingly simple method to create and control a broad variety of highly entangled quantum states.
The approach uses tools already common in quantum physics laboratories and could advance ultraprecise quantum sensing while opening new possibilities for studying exotic quantum materials.

We were honored to welcome the inspirational Dr. Walter E. Massey as the keynote speaker at the UChicago Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering 2026 Convocation.
A physicist, educator, and former director of the National Science Foundation (NSF), Massey is currently an advisor for the Giant Magellan Telescope – GMTO Corp., president emeritus of Morehouse College and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and senior advisor to the president and emeritus trustee of The University of Chicago.
Graduates celebrated their milestone day with a leader whose career has shaped science, education, and innovation.
