Student engagement and exploratory learning are so important at Alcott. The FOA raised the funds necessary to install and expand the Makerspace, supports student enrichment opportunities, and provides scholarships for the 8th grade trip.

Join us as we kick off the Pledge Drive at Fall Fest on Saturday, October 3. Visit us at the Pledge Drive table to make your pledge. The first 50 donations of $1500 per child will be entered into a raffle for a record player and the first 100 donations of $1500 per child will be entered into a raffle for a prize of their choosing, such as a Needoh gift basket, Lego set, or Sephora or Starbucks gift card!

Alcott values high quality arts, sports, performances, and student experiences. The FOA supports our yearly drama productions, student athletics, field trip scholarships, and special student experiences that bring learning to life beyond the classroom.

One of Alcott’s fundraising priorities is academic intervention and acceleration. The FOA has supported our school with funds for teacher and classroom aide salaries, Chromebooks and charge carts, Smartboards and more!

The goal for this year’s Pledge Drive is $350,000, with a suggested donation of $1,500 per child. These critical funds support programming for the 2027-28 school year and make a difference in the educational experience of our children.

We celebrated our amazing security guards, Mr. Lozada and Mr. Salgado, this week with a special lunch and lots of love and appreciation from our students! 💙🤍
Thank you for everything you do each day to keep our Wildcats safe, welcome them with a smile, and look out for our entire Alcott community. We’re so lucky to have you both!

📣 Alcott’s Annual Pledge Drive is just around the corner!
Led by Friends of Alcott, the Pledge Drive is our school’s single largest fundraiser and plays a critical role in helping Alcott’s administration plan for the 2027–28 academic year.
This year’s Pledge Drive kicks off at Fall Fest on October 3! Our goal is to raise $350,000, with a suggested pledge of $1,500 per student. Funds raised supplement our CPS budget and help provide Alcott students with an exceptional education through enrichment programs, technology, curriculum and instructional materials, staffing support, and other essential resources.
💙 Every gift makes a difference, and we’re aiming for 100% participation!
🎉 And we’re kicking things off with some great raffle prizes!
🎶 The first 50 families to make their full pledge of $1,500 per student will be entered into a raffle to win a record player + record. The winner will be drawn at Fall Fest!
🎁 The first 100 families to make their full pledge of $1,500 per student will also be entered to win a LEGO set, NeeDoh, Starbucks gift card, or Target gift card!
💻 New this year: We’re using Zeffy, a new fundraising platform that allows 100% of your pledge to go directly to Friends of Alcott. When making your pledge, you do not need to add an additional tip or cover any credit card processing fees.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Room Volunteer Orientation! We’re looking forward to a fun year of classroom parties, field trips, and more!
Planning to volunteer or chaperone this year? Remember that CPS requires most volunteers to be approved yearly as Level 1. The process includes fingerprinting (yearly), a TB test (every 2 years), and two online training courses.
We still have spots available for our September fingerprinting drive! Sign up today!

Movie on the Turf 🎬 was the perfect way to wrap up a successful first week of school!
Thanks to everyone who came out, brought their blankets, hung out, and made it such a fun night. And a big thank you for supporting the 8th grade trip fund by grabbing a limited-edition Alcott tee, popcorn🍿 and glow accessories! ✨
Shoutout to our 7th & 8th graders for running the popcorn sales. You guys crushed it!
Here’s to a great school year, Wildcats! 💙

Movie on the Turf is back! 🍿🎬 Grab a blanket, pack a picnic, and join us on the field on August 28 at 6:30pm for a showing of Hoppers.
This is a free event for all Alcott families! Students must be supervised, and while we love our furry friends, please leave the dogs at home.
Our 7th and 8th graders will be selling popcorn, glow bracelets, and the limited edition Alcott merch to support the 8th grade trip scholarship fund! 🗽
