The Business & Technology Career Fair and All Majors Internship and Job Fair couldn’t have been such a success without the numerous employers who filled the second floor of the Auditorium Building this week! Thank you for taking the time to discuss the career and internship opportunities available at your organization with our Lakers.
Special thank you to the Office of Career Services for hosting these two professional development events this semester.

Tomorrow, junior Margaret Higgins (she/her) will be taking over our Instagram story and showcasing her Laker life. Higgins is working towards her bachelor’s in musical theater while minoring in digital marketing, advertising, and public relations. In the future, Higgins hopes to continue to perform professionally in Chicago and use her minor to tap into the social media field.

Higgins is currently the vice president for the Wabash Community Council and communications director for the CCPA Student Council. She enjoys the Wabash Community Council because it gives Wabash residents the opportunity to have their voices heard and connect with their peers. “Joining the Wabash Community Council is a great way to get involved on campus and with the Office of Residence Life, as well as a fun way to meet other students that you don’t share classes with,” Higgins expressed. “Especially being a CCPA student, sometimes it's hard to meet Lakers that aren’t in my major, so WCC has been such an awesome resource to get involved and meet new people.”

Happy National Hispanic Heritage Month! During last year, we celebrated and honored Hispanic culture & heritage by hosting panels with individuals and alumni from the Hispanic community to discuss their experience in the workforce and ways to give back to their community. Students also had the opportunity to paint calaveras for Day of the Dead and watch movies inspired by Hispanic culture and influential figures.

This year, the Association of Latin American Students is hosting a kickoff event on Tuesday, September 17, at 2 p.m. in WB 317. Learn more about ALAS at: https://roosevelt.campuslabs.com/engage/organization/alas

Our Story

Our history is grounded in courage, acceptance and a commitment to social justice. Roosevelt's mission since its founding in 1945 has been to make higher education available to all students who qualify academically, regardless of their background. We help you unleash your potential, no matter who you are.

Mission

Reflecting the ideals of its founders in 1945, Roosevelt University is a private, nonsectarian community of educators, scholars, and learners committed to academic, creative, and service excellence who value differences in personal experiences and perspectives; ask the difficult questions; and promote mutual understanding, inclusion, social consciousness, and action toward social justice. Recognizing that difference broadens perspectives, Roosevelt University seeks and serves a diverse, promising student body from metropolitan Chicago and around the world.

The hallmarks of the Roosevelt University experience are strong student-faculty interaction and engagement with metropolitan Chicago as both a laboratory for learning and as an expression of its commitment to social justice. The experience is created through the efforts of a strong faculty dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and creative activity and a staff equally focused on helping students grow and achieve their educational and life goals.
