Glass Art Teaching Facility In 1987, Lance Friedman, a Chicago artist, opened Shatter Glass Group, Inc. (SGG) as a sole proprietership. Shatter Glass Group, Inc.
Attempting to become the first glass teaching facility in the city proved to be quite challenging. With no city code model in place, Chicago put tremendous pressure on SGG to comply to National Fire Safety Protection standards. All subsequent glass facility openings have been held to the standard that SGG created for The City of Chicago’s Department of Inspectional Service. was originally located

Now that I’m retired thought I’d get a motorcycle for nice quiet rides around my neighborhood.
Shatter Glass is permanently closed. Thanks to all the wonderful students that crossed its threshold.
We are currently closed until further notice. I’m taking a medical leave of absence. Therefore I am not teaching.
We are temporarily closed until July. So many people want to work with me. I can’t wait to get back to you all and teach my regular students and new ones alike. I just need to heal up from a tough surgery. I will be back to sharing my love for the medium and guiding students to become great glass artists. Thanks for your patience one and all!
