Be sure to check out “Charm”, co-curated by Printmedia graduate student, Reevah Agarwaal, and featuring alumni Izzy Cho (MFA ‘23)!

Repost • :

We are excited to announce the opening of our last group show of 2023 called "Charm .” Co-curated by Laura Kina and Reevah Agarwaal, the opening reception for “Charm” will be on Saturday, November 4, from 4-7 pm. And you are invited!

The group show consists of the following artists:

✨ Cathy Hsiao
✨ Lien Truong
✨ Liz Merritt Kong
✨ Izzy Cho
✨ Srishti Bahl
✨ Sona Kim

“Charm” takes its title from Chicago-based artist Izzy Cho’s sculpture “Charms at Rest” (2023) and is a serendipitous interplay of six Asian and Asian American femmes and thems, each contributing to the idea of “Charm” in its mystical, alluring, and superstitious interpretation.

The artworks featured in this exhibition embrace the decorative and feminist/queer aesthetics of ornamentation and excess. Each artist brings their unique palette, materiality, and identity to the interdisciplinary works, yet their collective presence creates a stunning tapestry of artistic expression and cultural commentary.

🙏🏽 Our deepest thanks to all the artists in the show. Also thank you to the co-curators Laura Kina & Reevah Agarwaal.
