During the December session, Professors Melissa Markley and Jackie Kuehl led students through a study abroad in Switzerland in conclusion to their fall course Exploring the Business of Global Nonprofits.
"My favorite part of the trip was how impactful each of the group engagements were, combined with the autonomy we each had in making the trip what we wanted it to be--I was able to explore and interact with what interested me most every day within and outside of group endeavors, and I'm extremely grateful to have had such a wonderful opportunity to participate in Dr. Markley's Switzerland abroad program!" - Riley Coesens
"As someone who is very interested in the non-profit field, it was very informative to hear first-hand about their work. We listened to the upsides and passion behind why these people chose the career they did and listened to some downfalls and the impact of how what's happening in the world affects their work." - Alex Bryant
"It was a once in a lifetime experience that allowed me to gain very valuable insight into how not for profit organizations work while exploring a beautiful country." - Monika Prokpiuk
Tess Linville, a senior majoring in marketing, shares her experience as a Marketing Intern at Nortech Systems. Her projects focused around digital marketing, demand generation, SEO, content marketing, and marketing automation.
“Every day I got to experience something new, and I think that was the best part of my internship.
Now that my internship is coming to an end, I can confidently say that I have learned so many valuable skills. These skills range from communication, building a network, storytelling, design skills, time management, and most importantly navigating my marketing career. Because of how great interning at Nortech was for me, working with another B2B company in the future is 100% something I would do again.”
Read more about Tess’s internship on our website blogs.depaul.edu/mkt/internships/.
Zafar Iqbal, Marketing Professor and Director of the IME Program, led a group of students on a 2 week long study abroad trip to India after learning about Business & Culture in a Rapidly Growing Economy during fall quarter.
“Our class was able to learn the many ways Yoga can help ease the stress of business related troubles. Dr. Vikas taught DePaul students how to use yoga to explain life and business obstacles, and how to overcome them with pure intentions and to be knowledgeable of all actions.
Dr. Vikas taught us ‘Universe please help me except the things that I cannot change. Universe please help me change the things that I can. Universe please help me understand the difference.’”
- Samira Al-Aghbary, Senior
