A round of applause for rising senior Myles A. and his fashion exhibition in the Upper School’s Gallery 2. The exhibition was the culmination of his work in and outside the classroom, featuring original garments, fashion photography and video from three collections created between 2024 and 2026.

Myles’ work was admired by Latin community members of all ages, including our first graders. Ms. Tafe’s first grade class visited the Upper School for a walkthrough of the exhibition, where they heard about Myles’ love for fashion and watched a sewing demonstration from the designer himself.

Congratulations on an inspiring exhibition, Myles!

Enjoy these final projects from the Upper School Stagecraft class, which challenged students to create a light show set to music or audio of their choosing.

Working in groups of three, students created photo collages to capture the mood of their piece and designed lighting cues that demonstrated the controllable qualities of light, including distribution, intensity, movement and color, to evoke specific emotions. Students also used objects on the stage to help tell their stories, illuminating them through their programmed lighting sequences.

Our Stagecraft class uses these hands-on opportunities to introduce students to the many responsibilities of theatre production and to help them build technical skills while nurturing their creativity.

We are delighted to celebrate this year's inductees into Latin's school chapter of the national Laude Society.

The Cum Laude Society recognizes top academic achievers in high school in the United States and across the globe. The purpose is to promote the values of excellence (areté), justice (diké) and honor (timé.)

We want to congratulate the newest members of Latin’s Cum Laude Society on their induction. They truly exemplify the unwavering commitment to scholarly distinction and shared values of excellence, community, and integrity that define our school.

Before the spring season comes to an end, we want to celebrate Lauren R. as May’s Latin Athletics Feature.

This season, Lauren broke the School record for career soccer goals scored with 91. Her commitment to the game has not only contributed to her success on the field, but also helped her grow into a strong leader off the field, including serving as team captain this year.

Read more about Lauren’s soccer career at Latin, her hopes for the program going forward, and what’s next for her at the link below.

The Upper School Performing Arts department is excited to announce its theatre season for the 2026-27 school year!

> Fall Play - “The Skin of Our Teeth” by Thornton Wilder
“Combining farce, burlesque and satire, Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play depicts an everyman family as it narrowly escapes one end-of-the-world disaster after another, from the Ice Age to flood to war.” - Concord Theatricals

> Advanced Acting Performance - “Legacy of Light” by Karen Zacarías
“Two female scientists, living hundreds of years apart, explore the meaning of love, motherhood, family, art and science in this contemporary comedy.” - Concord Theatricals

> Winter Play - “The Snow Queen” by Will Ledesma
This play takes the classic fairy tale from Hans Christian Andersen to the stage. The story follows two best friends whose journey takes a fantastical turn after they encounter a magical mirror and the Snow Queen.

We look forward to these wonderful performances in the Wrigley Theatre next year. Stay tuned for dates and casting announcements!

Students for the win! From extravagant walk-outs (thanks to our performing arts department) to exciting on-court competition, the Upper School faculty versus students basketball game brought great energy for Class Day.

After tying the game seconds before halftime, the US students carried that momentum into the second half, ultimately claiming a 40-28 victory.

Great game by everyone involved, and a huge thank you to our student government for organizing such a fun annual event!
