Wakatobi / Komodo Indonesia
Live aboard
Boat Dates: July 7th to July 18th 2025

Wakatobi is a group of four islands [Wangi-Wangi, Kaledupa, Tomia, and Binongko located in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. The name is an acronyme of those 4 islands. It’s also a Marine National Park, the second largest coral reef in the world, Jacques Coustau even stated that Wakatobi is quite possibly the finest dive site in the whole world! Although it is not easy to get there, but totally worth it.
Geographically, Wakatobi National Park is in the Coral Triangle which covers 6.47 million km of land and sea within the territories of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Papau New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Timor-Leste, often called the Amazon of the Seas. The Coral Triangle is home to 600 corals or 76 percent of the worlds known coral species, containing 2,500 or 37 percent of the worlds reef fish species, and also a spawning and nursery ground for 6 of the world’s 7 marine turtles.

Komodo Indonesia is one of more than 17,000 islands making up the Indonesian archipelago, and it’s also one of the three main islands of the Komodo National Park.
Rinca and Padar are the other two main islands in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, which includes both land and sea. Countless smaller islands developed because of volcanic activity, and they’re not only home to outstanding dive sites, but they also offer a lot to see on land, including the stunning Komodo dragons—large lizards that easily conjure images of “Jurassic Park.”
Komodo's underwater landscape offers a variety of dive sites to suit every diver's preference and experience level. Explore dramatic walls and canyons adorned with vibrant corals, venture into exhilarating drift dives where you'll be swept along by gentle currents, or dive in tranquil bays where macro enthusiasts can seek out the tiniest and most elusive critters.
One of the highlights of diving in Komodo is the opportunity to witness the majestic manta rays in their natural habitat. Manta Point, Batu Bolong, and Makassar Reef are just a few of the renowned dive sites where encounters with these graceful giants are almost guaranteed. Watch in awe as they glide effortlessly through the water, their wings spanning several meters, creating a truly unforgettable spectacle.
