Currie Tighe, a Doctor of Nursing Practice student in the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing, has been named a 2024 Tillman Scholar by the Pat Tillman Foundation. Tighe’s exemplary service in the U.S. Army and as a civilian nurse honors the legacy of Pat Tillman, reflecting a commitment to leadership and patient care.

Congratulations to U.S. Army veteran Currie Tighe, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student at the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing who has been named a 2024 Tillman Scholar by the Pat Tillman Foundation.

The Foundation honors the service of former NFL player and U.S. Army Ranger Pat Tillman by investing in future leaders. Tighe, a former Army emergency room nurse who retired as a captain in 2022, is one of 60 veterans and members of the military community selected for this year's cohort from among nearly 1,600 applicants.

Tillman scholarships will fund their pursuit of higher education in impact areas such as health care, business, and STEM, allowing them to continue serving their communities.

143 Loyola Ramblers student-athletes were named to the 2023-24 Atlantic 10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. 15 Ramblers earned a perfect 4.0 and 109 earned a 3.5 or higher.

On Thursday, June 20, at 7 a.m. CT, Loyola’s Building Bridges Initiative will bring students from multiple Asia Pacific countries into direct dialogue with Pope Francis to share their experiences and challenges. Since the series launch in February 2022, the University has since become a hub for this synodal endeavor, and this marks the fourth dialogue in the series spanning five continents.
