Since 1973, Alternative Schools Network (ASN), a not-for-profit organization in Chicago, has been working to provide quality education with a specific emphasis on urban children, youth and adults, and supporting community-based and community-run programs and schools to develop and expand training and other educational services in Chicago's underserved neighborhoods. In addition to supporting direc

t services, ASN has advocated for community-based services in which the people involved are active participants in developing and running programs rather than passive recipients of services. ASN helps shape policies and programs based upon its track record of operating successful education, employment and support service programs.

ASN’s Chicago Youth Works Program has officially come to an end! 🎉
This summer, our youth worked throughout the City of Chicago, gaining valuable employment and career-readiness skills, participating in community resource fairs, building professional relationships, and preparing for future opportunities.
A special thank you to the Chicago Youth Works Program through the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) for providing this opportunity to our young people.
A BIG shout-out to the ASN team, our worksite partners, community partners, mentors, and supporters for making this a meaningful and memorable summer for our youth! 💙

Thank you to Troy Pryor, Founder & Chairman of Creative Cypher, for speaking with ASN youth and inspiring them to explore careers in film, television, media, and the creative arts at the YS3 Film Festival. His connection to XL Fest continues to open doors for young Chicago creatives.

On Thursday, Troy welcomed ASN's Associate Director Martrice Manuel to XL Fest festivities, where he met Tolsin Morohunmola from The Chi and Jory Luster, President of Luster Products — powerful industry leaders supporting our communities. ASN's youth will be attending Friday and Saturday.
