Take Back Chicago Take Back Chicago! Thousands Rally and March to Take Back Chicago

Monday October 10th Take Back Chicago mass mobilization was a huge success.

And we mean huge–7,000+ Chicagoans turned out to take back our city, our jobs, our homes and our schools. And that was just the beginning, with days of action that followed focusing specifically on Homes (Tuesday), Schools (Wednesday), and Jobs (Thursday). Plus, we joined in a MoveOn-organized action on Friday to pressure Senators Kirk and Durbin to support job creation, which ended in a march to

stand up and show solidarity with Occupy Chicago. More details, photos and video to follow soon, as well as an updated calendar for our next steps. Visit www.takebackchicago.org for more info including links to media from Monday's event!

"Among African-American voters surveyed, Emanuel gets 8 percent... Emanuel has alienated African-American voters who helped put him in office by instigating Chicago’s first teachers strike in 25 years, closing 50 public schools, opening new charter schools and unveiling plans to build new schools and school additions, with the educational largesse heavily concentrated on the North Side."

Only one in five Chicago voters credit Mayor Rahm Emanuel with doing a better job of running the city than Richard M. Daley did, and only 29 percent would support him if the mayoral election were held today. Those are the results of a new poll conducted for Early & Often, the Chicago Sun-Times’ pol…

March 18th, voters in 103 precincts in Chicago will have the chance to Raise Chicago and vote to raise the wage to $15/hour for workers of wealthy corporations. This chart shows clearly why this matters.
