Dear Prussing Families,

This holiday season, the best gift you can give your child is a good education. The best place to get an education is in school. As you make holiday travel plans, make sure your child is in school every day, right up until vacation starts. Winter Break for Chicago Public School students will be from Monday, December 24th through Friday, January 4th. Students will return on Monday, January 7th at 8:15 a.m.

Progress reports were distributed today, Friday, December 14th. The OST After School Programs continue through Thursday, December 20th. Programs will resume after winter break on Monday, January 7th, 2019. The next PAWS Celebration for Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students will be Movie Day on Friday, December 21st. We want to congratulate Meriem Khelil for winning a Daniel Murphy scholarship! She plans to attend Lycée Français de Chicago (the French International school). We are Prussing Proud of you! There will be a Winterpalooza celebration on Wednesday, December 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the school auditorium. Ticket prices will be $2 for adults and $1 for children, cash only at the door. In addition, Officer Friendly (CPD Officer Ramos) will provide a safety presentation on Monday, December 17th at 9:00 a.m. for students from Kindergarten through second grade. School Newspaper! Rooms 006 and 005 created an online newspaper named the “Prussing Tea”. We would appreciate it if you would visit the Prussing website and check it out! We released the December issue on the 7th. November 30, 2018 Principal's Letter to Parents/Guardians

Dear Prussing Families,

We would like to congratulate Gabriela Masnica for receiving the Daniel Murphy Scholarship! We are so proud of Gabriela and wish her the best in selecting a high school! The next PAWS Celebration for Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students will be Movie Day on Friday, December 21st.

Please save the date! There will be a Winterpalooza celebration on Wednesday, December 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the school auditorium. There will also be a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) and Bilingual Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting on Thursday, December 13th at 9:00 a.m. in the lunchroom. In addition, Officer Friendly (CPD Officer Ramos) will provide a safety presentation on Thursday, December 17th at 9:00 a.m. for students from Kindergarten through second grade.

Student Council is sponsoring a "Snow Ball" dance for the upper grade students. The Snow Ball Dance for 6th-8th grade students will be after school on December 13th from 5-7PM. Tickets will be sold for $5 starting Monday, December 3rd during lunch (12:30 p.m. - 1:10 p.m.). Ticket sales will end on December 12th, but students can still purchase tickets at the door on December 13th for $5. Soda and pizza will be available for students to purchase for $1 a slice/can. All purchases for this event MUST BE EXACT CHANGE. Student Council is still looking for both parent and teacher volunteers to chaperone the dance! Parent volunteers need to make sure that they completed the CPS Volunteer Form and are approved by the school! If you are interested in chaperoning, please e-mail Ms. Maj or Ms. Beck ( [email protected], [email protected] ).
