Our high schoolers dressed to the nines for the Alternative Schools Network Youth Education & Employment Summit! 👔💼 These guys were amazing representatives for AHHS at this conference on the youth employment crisis in our city.

One of our students, Sheri, spoke eloquently on a panel about the opportunities alternative education has opened up for her:

"What brought me to this school was wanting to defeat the odds and not let anyone tell me that I wasn't going to make it. Coming from a school where I was so unsupported with college, I'm so grateful to finally be at a school that actually helped me and gave me the ability to go. Don't let anyone stop you from achieving your dreams, don't settle for what everyone else is doing. Go for the biggest."

Since coming to AHHS, Sheri has been accepted to FIFTEEN universities-- we couldn't be more proud!! 🏆 Thanks to 26th Ward Alderperson Jessie Fuentes for showing up to support our kids too!

Youth Connection Charter Schools (AHHS) is in its renewal process. We are calling for the Chicago Board of Education to renew the charter and support our schools as we continue to provide an education and vital support to students in the city.
