Our friends at iMentor are looking for mentors!😍⠀

iMentor Chicago is working to rebalance the odds and give more Chicago Public School (CPS) high school graduates a fair chance to realize their dreams. iMentor matches entire grades of students at their CPS partner schools—most of whom will be the first in their family to go to college—with a college-educated mentor to be their champion on their journey to and through college.

Mentors with iMentor:

1. Hold a 2-year or 4-year degree

Mentors are not expected to be experts on the college application process but can speak from personal experience navigating that path.

2. Commit to a 3-year relationship with a CPS student (starting at the beginning of their Junior year of high school)

44% of mentors say the long term relationship is what appeals to them the most. During the 3-year program, mentor responsibilities are primarily during the school year, October – June, and most structured during the first two years of the relationship, while students are still in high school. During the third year, most communication will happen virtually.

3. Commit to exchanging one online communication with their mentee each week and attending one group event each month. (when conditions allow)
