Alliance for Student Social Workers

We are a student led organization at NEIU that provides an opportunity for students to engage in advocacy and lobbying on campus and in our communities.

Alliance for Student Social Workers (ASSW) is a student led organization at Northeastern Illinois University that functions collaboratively with the Social Work department. It is entirely student-run and provides an opportunity for students to engage in advocacy and lobbying at the University and beyond. It also serves as a place to socialize and connect with peers and create lifelong community allies and partners.

Hi Everyone!! I hope your summer has kept you cool and busy with full of activities. Guayni Quesada is reaching out to all of you because she is currently a case manager at the Puerto Rican Cultural Center in Humboldt Park for the PASEO program concentrated in Domestic Violence. She will be hosting a 2hr self-empowerment class on Aug. 17th and Sept. 21st from 2pm-4pm and would like to open up the doors to anyone who would like to come in a co-facilitate the class. The program has already brought in people who spoke on self-defense, mental health and even gardening. She would like to bring something new to the table on what the clients can relate to and share with others. **Spanish speakers is preferred, but not mandatory.** If anyone is interested please comment or inbox her for more information. Please don't forget about our fundraiser tomorrow night. Please message me if you want to purchase tickets ($15) ahead of time! We can hold them for you! It is $20 at the door.

We will have raffles, art silent auction, contemporary music performance, and lots of food!

Come celebrate the class of 2017 with us while raising money for such an amazing agency!
