Teacher/Director Qualified Position

Qualifications

The day care center must have a qualified child care director on site at all times. The director must be at least 21 years old, have completed two years of college or have equivalent experience and credentials.

1) Sixty semester or 90 quarter hours of credit from an accredited college or university with 18 semester or 27 quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development from birth to age 6;
2) Two years (3120 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center, 30 semester or 45 quarter hours of college credits with 10 semester or 15 quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, and proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university until 2 years of college credit have been achieved. A total of 18 semester or 27 quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development is required to be obtained within the total 2 years of college credits

The director supervises the center staffs, coordinates programs for children and families. Organizing and running day to day Center programs

Director requires Bachelors degree or Masters. ( ECE, CDA)

Plans appropriate training for staffs. The director make sure the day to day operations provides children with nurturing, safe learning environment as well as to assure parents that their children have been left in a safe, caring environment where the daily activities provides them with learning experiences that helps them grow mentally, and physically. The director must help the staff to perform their duties in a warm, nurturing environment where children learn through play, feel safe, experience success as they learn to appreciate and explore their own creativity.

Must be well organized, a starter, ethical, and committed to helping families and children.

Plans activities, create schedules for staff development as needed.

Analyzes data, creates reports

Establish and maintain records.

Development relationship in the community

Attends conference and/or training.

Helps with recruitment

Applies newly acquired knowledge to everyday practices and require the same from staffs.

Develops and maintain relationships with staff, families and children.

Maintain good attendance

Help establish a parent policy committee.

Manages time well to complete reports on time.

Participates and conducts performance reviews and personal/professional growth.

Be a positive influence on staffs and parents.

Accepts differences in others and strives to find common ground.

Must be a team player, exhibit flexibility, always show professionalism and respect to others.

Must know DCFS policy and guidelines.

Must have all State required degrees, license and certifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
