Support resources are now available for UIC international students and scholars who need to file a 2025 tax return.

Who needs to file? Great question!

All international students, scholars, and employees who were physically present in the U.S. at any time during calendar year 2025 must file at least one tax form with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Those who earned U.S.-based income will need to file additional forms.

While OIS cannot provide tax advising or preparation services, we do provide resources:

1️⃣ Discounted access to Sprintax, a tax preparation software designed specifically for non-residents.

2️⃣ Educational webinars with a local tax professional.

The general deadline for federal and Illinois state 2025 tax filings is Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
