🎉 CONGRATULATIONS, CAP! 🎉
I’m excited to share that after a lot of work behind the scenes, We are finally rolling out our Perfect Attendance Recognition Program, with over 400 members eligible!

I want to personally congratulate each and every member for your hard work, dedication, and commitment. While this may seem like a small token of recognition, it represents something much bigger. Programs like this give us something to build on and the ability to bargain for even more for our membership in upcoming negotiations.

I also want to recognize and thank the members of our Negotiation Team Coby, Jeff, Hammer, Mike & Steve for all of your hard work in helping bring something huge to Chicago Assembly Plant. This was a team effort, and I’m proud to see it come to life!

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be coming through the departments to capture photos of our eligible members. Participation in photos is completely voluntary, and dates will be announced soon.

The criteria for the Perfect Attendance Recognition Program are listed below.
⭕️Employees must remain on the active rolls from January 1
through December 31 unless on an approved military leave of ,
absence.
⭕️During the eligibility period (January 1 through December 31),
employees must not incur a single full shift: (Partial shift does not
disqualify)
• A-AWOL
• D - Discipline
• P- Unpaid Personal
• M - Medical Leaves
• T - Short Term Illness
• UR. TR - FMLA ,
• U - Union Business (That lacks the support UB letter)

On behalf of President Chris Pena and UAW Local 551, Motorcycle Committee Chairman Omar presented a $1,000 donation to Doll's Inc. Homeless Veterans Shelter in support of the organization's mission to serve and assist our nation's homeless veterans.

UAW Local 551 is honored to give back to those who have sacrificed so much for our country, and we remain committed to supporting organizations that make a meaningful difference in our community.

Please keep the family and friends of our former Local 551 member, Janice Jones, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Janice's sister, Helen Bailey, is an MPL worker on A Crew.

On behalf of UAW Local 551, we extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to Janice's family, friends, and loved ones.

🎓 UAW Local 551 is proud to announce the 2026 Roman Scholarship Award!

In honor of the late Steve Roman, we are awarding 25 scholarships in the amount of $500 each to graduating high school seniors from the Class of 2026 whose parent or legal guardian is a current member of UAW Local 551.

This scholarship is an opportunity to support the next generation as they take the next step toward their future. We encourage all eligible families to apply and share this opportunity with their seniors.

📅 Application Window: July 1st – July 26th, 2026

Applicants must:
• Be a 2026 graduating high school senior
• Have an active parent or legal guardian who is a current UAW Local 551 member
• Submit a copy of their college application letter
• Submit their high school transcripts
