On April 29, the University of Illinois Cancer Center hosted a Community Lab Mixer in partnership with the research laboratories of Cancer Center members Sandra Pinho, PhD, and Kaori Yamada, PhD, and community partner Blood Cancer United.
Participants engaged in conversations about , exchanged perspectives and experiences, and toured the Pinho Lab and the Yamada Lab to gain a firsthand look at ongoing cancer research.

The summer research programs at the University of Illinois Cancer Center have started. The first programs, Undergraduate Cancer Research Exploration and Training Experience (U-CREATE) and Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials Award Program: Clinical Investigator Pathway Program (Winn CIPP), started on June 1.
The remaining summer programs, ResearcHStart and the Cancer Health Engagement Summer Scholars (CHESS), are set to start on June 15.
