🎭Our Theater Residency has begun! We are so excited to have Katy back at Mary Meyer School! Our Theater Residency focuses on teaching an approach which emphasizes invention, transformation and collaboration. Our long-standing relationship with Katy helps to support so many of our core values and the Mary Meyer School mission of learning through purposeful play.

What a wonderful and special night! We were so happy to host “Learn By Doing” —an evening event that brings Mary Meyer School parents together at the schoolhouse to experience class time from their child’s perspective. Parents drew self-portraits, made handprint turkeys, sang songs, listened during storytime and were given a variety of classroom jobs: the comforter, safety reminder, kindness catcher, weather reporter and more—and our Cooking Club Parents made a guacamole snack for all of our friends! We all want our children to have the best start that they can, and we have a panel of local preschool experts here to help you prepare. Our panelists will discuss things you can do to help your family’s transition smooth and enjoyable. They will address separation anxiety, what to expect on the first day, how to talk with your child about preschool, and what is most meaningful during these special years. You will walk away with tips on activities you can do at home to prepare your child for preschool, saying good-bye on the first day and beyond, and what to expect on the first day.

Mary Meyer School has been inspiring preschool aged children to encounter the world with joy, curiosity and confidence since 1943 in their warm and beautiful row house turned preschool.

Our annual Pumpkin Festival was a BIG hit! The weather cooperated and we had the BEST time with all of our Mary Meyer School families! 🎃Happy Halloween🎃

We are a NAEYC accredited preschool that inspires children to encounter the world with joy, curiosity and confidence.
Our children spend their time at school in small and large groups being supported and taught by creative and inspirational teachers. All of our head teachers have a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and a comprehensive understanding of child development and what children need at this age. With decades of experience, we also support our parents as their children move into their life as a student.
Our work inside often leads us outside to explore our Lakeview neighborhood. Whether we are collecting leaves for a science experiment or proclaiming our love to preserve our planet on an Earth Day Parade, we spend each day as thoughtful explorers.
Our Playgarden behind our schoolhouse inspires students to run and play and bike and climb…and to plant. Our large raised beds inspire young farmers to get their hands dirty as they sow and plant and host a farmer’s market in the spring
Our school invites a variety of experts to share their skills with us throughout the school year:
• Theater with Lookingglass.
• Music and movement with Susan Salidor.
• A yoga residency.
• Studio Artist on staff.
• Planting and gardening in the spring with our farmer-in-residence.
