Cunningham (JD ‘82 – UIC Law), and Justice Lisa Holder White, recipients of the Justice Charles Freeman Award, and Judge Arnette Hubbard (JD ’69 – UIC Law), recipient of the Timothy C. Evans Judicial Award. Congratulations to our esteemed alumni! We are so proud of you.

Justice Joy Cunningham ('82) will fill the vacated seat of retiring Chief Justice Anne Burke on the Illinois Supreme Court, becoming the second Black woman to serve on the Illinois Supreme Court. Justice Cunningham is the recipient of the 2019 Howard T. Markey Award, and offered the Commencement address to UIC Law graduates in 2020.

Professor Ann Lousin was interviewed by ABC 7 Chicago about the retirement of Illonois Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke.

Interim Dean Julie Spanbauer sits down with former Dean John E. Corkey to talk about baseball, the joys of teaching, and memories from their shared time at the Law School. Dean Corkery joined the law faculty during the tenure of Dean Noble W. Lee and served in a number of decanal positions throughout his career. He formally assumed leadership of the Law School in 2007, after serving as Acting Dean, and led the school until his retirement in late 2016.
