The best educators never stop being learners.
This week’s Teaching Tip Tuesday is about something I was reminded of while attending Premier Orlando.
Yes, I learned from the content being presented—but some of the biggest takeaways came from observing other educators.
How they captured attention.
How they explained difficult concepts.
How they connected with their audience.
And just as importantly, what seemed to lose engagement or create confusion.
One of the challenges in education is that we can become comfortable in our own environment. We teach the same topics, in the same spaces, using many of the same approaches.
Attending conferences, trade shows, and educational events gives us the opportunity to see different perspectives, different presentation styles, and different ways to create meaningful learning experiences.
The next time you’re at an event, challenge yourself to find:
✅ 2–3 presentation ideas you want to try
🛑 1 experience that made learning harder
Then reflect on how those observations might influence your own teaching.
