Karriem Watson, DHSc, MS, MPH, UIC SPH MPH alum and former SPH research assistant professor, has been named the new executive director of UI Health Mile Square Health Center!
Watson will lead UI Health’s Federally Qualified Health Center network of clinics that serve communities across Chicago and Rockford.

Congratulations to School of Public Health undergraduate student Monica Padilla, who has been named University of Illinois Chicago's 2024 Lincoln Academy Student Laureate. The public health and biological sciences student plans to attend medical school and serve her community as a bilingual physician. Only one senior from each Illinois college is named a Lincoln Laureate each year!
