The Mater Christi Council #14284 presented a $500 check to Seminarian Christian Shu at Saint Therese in China Town on Sunday June 26, 2016. Christian told us that he will be working in a hospital next year and expects to obtain his Deccan status around this time next year. He also expects to be ordained as a priest around June 2018. One of the women parishioners told us that she knew he would become a priest when he was only 13 years old.
There is still time to include your advertisement in the 2016 Memorial Exemplification AD Book. You can place a quarter page ad for a little as $25, half page ad for $50, or a full page ad for $100.

We had nine winners of this years Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest. I can only post a picture of the winning posters. We tried to have an awards ceremony this year, but the frigid temperatures caused a less than desired turnout. However, this years contest drew 103 contestants from Pre-K through 4th grade. Hopefully, next year we will have twice the number of entrants as this year.
Mater Christi Memorial Mass will be held Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 5pm at Saint Ferdinand Church. We will be honoring the recently deceased members of our council. Please feel free to join us.
On July 20, 2014, a major degree ceremony will be held at St. Alfonsus located at 1429 W Wellington Ave, Chicago, IL 60657 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degrees in the Knights of Columbus.
