A little flour, a lot of teamwork, and some delicious-looking pretzels!

Today, our 4th graders got things started by making the dough before teaming up with the 9th grade class to knead, twist, and shape pretzels from scratch for this Friday’s Oktoberfest. Watch the whole process come together, and try not to get hungry by the end!

A little big band to brighten our morning!

The Käthe Kollwitz School Big Band from Hanover, Germany, visited CWS today for a special performance, bringing an incredible mix of classics and contemporary pieces to CWS and GISC students.

SENIOR NIGHT IS TONIGHT!

It’s time to celebrate our amazing High School Girls Volleyball seniors! The JV game starts at 5:00 PM, so come early and get ready to cheer on our teams! Help us make this a Senior Night these three will never forget.

During their botany morning lessons, our fourth graders are each observing an assigned plant, recording their discoveries through detailed drawings and notes in their journals. A quiet practice of looking closely, noticing change, and getting to know the plants growing around them.

On Saturday, our Early Childhood community gathered to celebrate autumn at our Harvest Festival!

Families came together with music, singing, dancing, seasonal crafts, and delicious treats made by our classes to mark the changing of the seasons.

Festivals like these are an important part of the rhythm of the year in Early Childhood, giving children meaningful ways to experience and celebrate the turning of time together.

Michaelmas at Chicago Waldorf School!

Today, our community celebrated Michaelmas, the Festival of Courage—a Waldorf tradition that invites us to meet the changing season with courage, initiative, and steadfastness.

From facing a life-size dragon to taking on physical challenges with buddy classes, students embraced the spirit of the day through movement, community, and a little bit of adventure.

Our 7th graders spent Friday making aguas frescas with Señora González in Spanish class, bringing their language learning into the kitchen. They made three tasty varieties: horchata, Jamaica, and limeade. ¡Qué delicioso!
