At NKO, we believe that every minute of reading counts! That’s why we are excited to continue our Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) initiative each morning.

When scholars first arrive at school, before formal instruction begins, every classroom pauses for silent reading. Scholars use this time to settle in, explore books they enjoy, build reading stamina, and start their school day in a calm and productive way.

We encourage families to support DEAR by helping scholars bring a book to school each day that is appropriate for their grade level and interests.

A few quiet minutes of reading each morning can make a big difference over time!

Thank you for partnering with us to cultivate a schoolwide culture of reading. Together, we can help our Panthers become confident, enthusiastic, and lifelong readers!

Thank you to our NKO families who joined us for our open house this past Friday!

Our Open House gave families an opportunity to peek behind the curtain and see the wonderful work happening throughout our school. We began the evening with a presentation in the auditorium, where families had the opportunity to meet our building leadership team and learn more about our vision and mission for the school year. We also reviewed important school policies, reinforced our STICK values, and highlighted the expectations and priorities that will help our scholars have a successful year.

Every lap, every step, and every donation brings us closer to providing our scholars with even more opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help provide valuable resources and opportunities for our students.
