Good Morning and welcome to "What's on This Weekend" Wednesday!
JASNA GCR's own Jeffrey Nigro be participating in an art and music program on July 9 at the Driehaus Museum in Chicago, connected to the museum's current exhibition Ink & Outrage: 18th Century Satirical Prints in London & Dublin. If you were unfortunate enough to miss our tour of the exhibit, or even if you did join us, but would like to return, here is an excellent opportunity. Jeff Nigro will delve into how this imagery functions in its historical context. Soprano Josefien Stoppelenburg and pianist Stephen Alltop will offer musical perspectives with a variety of whimsical and reflective songs, and that favorite of the Georgian parlor, The Battle of Prague by František Kocžwara.
Ink & Outrage: Songs & Satire | Driehaus Museum The Richard H. Driehaus Museum explores the art, architecture, and design of the late 19th-century with a focus on the Gilded Age. The Museum is located just steps from the Magnificent Mile within the meticulously restored Nickerson Mansion, renowned as Gilded Age Chicago’s “Marble Palace.”
