UI Health ranks among the nation's best in ophthalmology — No. 16 — in U.S. News and World Report’s 2026-27 Best Hospitals rankings. And the hospital’s cancer care ranked at No. 5 in Illinois and in Chicago.
The hospital also received high-performing ratings in eight common adult procedures and conditions, continuing to prove that UIC’s health system is world-class.

🏙️💨 Chicago air quality is at unhealthy levels with smoke moving in from wildfires in Canada, but Chicagoans can monitor the air quality in their neighborhoods thanks to the nation's largest local air-quality monitoring system, started right here at UIC.
