Sorry about never telling you what we've been up to.

Working on giving the next generation of problem-solvers, earth-shakers, dream-makers the chance to build, play, and explore!

Tinkering School Chicago is looking for a few good campers. We are looking for the wild ones! The ones that need a week out in the woods to build, explore, and play! Over the past 7 years we have established ourselves as the place where children are met with a great freedom, with a great task, and with life long memories! We have built bridges over the creek, a 25 ft long see-saw, an enormous tower, innumerable forts, rafts, catapults and tree-houses. We work with the clay we harvest from the creek, we gather round the camp-fire, we swim, we hike. We distill summer's greatness down to 5 days that we carry with us as a reminder that when we work together anything is possible. APPLY NOW!

A picture says a thousand words, but these pictures do our community fort building events no justice. We had the time of our lives out there, collecting sticks and tying them together with twine. The tulle does look good hanging around in a park on blustery winters day, but, again you just had to be there. It was straight magic.

Going to the farm in about 10 days. Can't wait to build and play and explore for a couple of weeks with the goats and the chickens and the ducks, and the red-tailed hawks, and the peacocks, and ducks, and turkey, and oh yeah, humans, and did I already say piglets, and big pigs and dogs and I'll see lots of insects/bugs and Tim, don't forget Tim. (and cats and maybe a tad-pole, surely some frogs, and a bunch other creatures)
