Exciting developments for K-12 aerospace and aviation are coming soon as part of our legacy Aeronautics Education Laboratory! The historical importance and the Chicago connection of Willa Brown, Harold Hurd, Cornelius Coffey, James Robinson, and other pioneering African American aviators will never be lost or forgotten as they will ignite the passion of a new generation of pilots and mechanics with no barriers or limits on what they can achieve in aviation/aerospace careers!

Our K-12 STEM programs and activities are free to students, families, and our community members.
NASCAR Street Race is back in Chicago this weekend! Understanding and applying aerodynamics to race cars is key to performance. The physics and engineering behind race cars and racing is another STEM discipline that we have brought to Chicago communities in past years. Stay tuned for our summer POP-UP workshops!

One of the clearest message that is communicated to students and the public is "Space is dangerous." The loss of the SpaceX Falcon 9 on the launch pad during a launch simulation September 1 is a reminder that all of the engineering genius we have there always remains a margin of error. This mission was designed to launch a satellite into space that would bring wider Internet access to countries in Africa.
SpaceX Rocket Blast Destroys Satellite for Facebook Project A SpaceX rocket exploded in Florida, marking the second loss of a spacecraft by Elon Musk’s venture in a little more than a year and hobbling an effort by Facebook Inc. to spread internet access in Africa.

Another FIRST Robotics Midwest Regional is now in the history books. FIRST Team 2725 The Ice Princesses, my girls, were amazing this year. FIRST Team 2462 is on hiatus but loaned us one guy to help with programming this season. Thanks to Elliot for his programming expertise. We'll be recruiting high schools girls from the Chicago area for the 2014 season starting next week. Please visit us on Sunday, April 14 at the Museum of Science & Industry's robot block party.
