We were honored to recently participate in the 39th Ward Back to School event and snap this fun photo with 39th Ward Alderman Samantha Nugent!

As the summer interns wrapped up their recruiting, intern Emily (picture 2) said going to community events and "meeting so many different kinds of people and making extraordinary connections" has been the best part of her experience, adding that "It’s always a joy whenever someone signs up and you see a smile on their face, knowing that they found the exact program they were looking for." We couldn't agree more!

Meet Zoe, the final intern in our 2026 Summer Intern Spotlight series at ! 🌟When asked, "What advice would you give next year's interns?" Zoe shared:

"My biggest piece of advice to next year's interns is to stay organized, communicate clearly, and not be afraid to reach out to volunteers. Take every opportunity to learn something new, even if it seems challenging. The more effort you put into the experience, the more you'll get out of it."
