That’s a wrap on a very special 60th anniversary program year.

This year, students across grew through curriculum designed to meet them where they are and help them move forward in reading, math, and foundational literacy skills.

Post-assessments helped us measure that growth, but the real impact showed up week after week: in confidence, persistence, problem solving, and the relationships at the heart of our program.

Here’s to 60 years of showing up for students, and to all the growth still ahead!

Ava and Eva remind us that relationships are the heart of this work. Learning happens because students feel supported, celebrated, and genuinely cared for. We could not imagine a better final Pair of the Week to close out an incredible year!

In this week’s agenda, tutors and students worked together to create summertime fitness goals!

Physical fitness helps keep your body strong, improves focus and learning, boosts energy, and supports overall mental health. We loved seeing students think about healthy habits and set goals they can feel proud of this summer!

What a fun evening celebrating the success of the program year alongside our incredible tutors, volunteers, and staff. From great conversations and trivia games to raffle prizes and beach-themed fun, the event was a wonderful reminder of the that makes so special. 💚

We’re grateful for the impact our volunteers have made throughout the year and we loved having the opportunity to celebrate together!

Bella and Patsy have shown meaningful growth throughout their three years together in the program. They have built a positive learning relationship that supports both academic progress and personal confidence. Together, they’ve created a productive and supportive environment that continues to foster success. Their radiant smiles reflect the joy and connection they share through their time together!

At the end of April, Tutoring Chicago hosted its second of the program year!

Tutors gathered to discuss The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows and reflected on how reading can offer both a meaningful escape and a powerful way to learn and connect with others.
