When Real Estate Goes Retro Massive redevelopment projects, including The 78, the Main Post Office, and Lincoln Yards in Chicago, and the McDonald’s Campus in Oak Brook, are attracting a great deal of publicity. Reminiscent of “mega developments” of the 1970s, like Dearborn Park and Illinois Center, these vast mixed-use initiatives are poised to transform large swaths of city and suburban land. Join us for a half-day symposium reviewing the planning and real-estate dimensions of these and other ambitious projects. We will explore their scope, attributes, and underlying economics to gain a better understanding of their significance for the Chicago-area region.
