In past years, Dr. Chen’s design entrepreneurship students traveled from Germany, Taiwan and the U.S. to work together in person. This fall, they met fully remote.
In groups, students found ways to overcome language barriers and time zones. “I loved working together with other students from different cultures and seeing what everyone had to bring to the table,” one student wrote.

Check out the Sound of Silent Films Festival the last week in July. It will feature 14 contemporary films without dialogue, each with a new score performed live on tape by a six-member classical ensemble.
The festival is one of the signature presentations of Contemporary Music, a non-profit organization founded by in 2004 after he completed his master’s degree in music composition from Roosevelt University in 2000.
