If you know me you know this is a season that can be bypassed. But I will still stay happy holidays to all.

Good Morning. It has been brought to my attention that The Hyde Park Football Coach who is an Alumni of Hyde Park Career Academy, is being fired because the school wants to go in a different direction. This is coming off of a Football team that just came off a 9-0 season, tallied with a 73% Winning percentage and the potential to build into a bigger and better program coming soon. The Coaches have built this team up from the scraps and now we are a team to look out for not to look at and walk by. We have been moved into new conference each year for the past 7 years getting better because they don't know where to place us as we keep getting better. I need ALL HYDE PARK ALUMNI to speak up and support the move of Football coach for no reason other than moving in a new direction and not including the staff that is moving the Football Team Forward! Let Go AITCHPE!! Let me hear you INDIAN AND THUNDERBIRDS SPEAK UP!!! Lets Spread the word!!!

Good evening Alumni,

I bring you this message to let you know that another one of our Alumni has passed away. Dr. Leon Finney, Jr. passed on September 4th 2020. On Friday September 25th, The Family will be having a drive through the Woodlawn neighborhood. This motorcade will include driving past Hyde Park Academy. They are asking that we line up in front of the school on 62nd and Stony Island and say our goodbyes as the procession passes. Due to the pandemic restrictions, we are asking that everyone please wear your masks and if possible something representing Hyde Park High School. Please try and social distance between one another. Also if you would like, please feel free to decorate farewell signs in the school colors. Here is the information

Friday September 25th , 2020

12:30pm – Processional Line up at Leak Funeral Home – 78th and Cottage Grove.

1:00pm – Processional drive through the Woodlawn Neighborhood (Hyde Park High School)

Dr. Finney’s body will lay in state from 3pm-8pm at Metropolitan Church, 41st & King Dr. The Funeral will take place on Saturday September 26th, 2020 at Apostolic Faith Church, 3823 S Indiana Ave., Chicago IL. 60653
