Our Wish List

Bruce is the mentor who taught our coaches how to start Ogden's high school FTC team. In our first year he came to every Ogden Robotics team meeting and once he took the team's big red toolbox and built a power outlet inside before anyone knew how useful it would be and without asking anyone's permission. At last month's FTC tournament Bruce gave me the best smile when I noticed him still watching over our high school team.

We started with our FTC team; Redhot robotics. Our rookie year we won the FIRST Gracious Professionalism award and the Judge’s award. Two of the highest honors a robotics team can receive. Our second year we placed 2nd in the Chicago city competition. But our ambition did not stop there. Fast forward to Spring of 2019. Our FTC team came back from the Illinois regional competition after emerging champions in Chicago city competition.

Our rookie FRC team competed against some of the most elite and sophisticated robots FRC has to offer. At the end of the long three day competition we were happy just to compete, we thought our season was over. But at the end of the day we won The Rookie All-Star Award. Which automatically advances us to the FIRST Championship in Detroit Michigan.

Here's the big news from Nick, Head Coach of Ogden Robotics high school FTC team...

Our FTC team won the Chicago city championship and has qualified for the Illinois State Championship! Our team formed an excellent partnership with the Latin School robotics team, strategized brilliantly, and won an incredibly exciting match against 2 teams from Francis Parker school. It's an awesome accomplishment that everyone should be very proud of!

Now, that means we need to figure out how to get the team to the competition. The event details:
When: Friday, 2/22, 6pm to Saturday, 2/23, 6pm
Where: Elgin Community College, Building J Event Center
Friday night details: Judging and Inspections from 6pm-9pm
Saturday details: Check-in at 7:30am, matches at 9am, championship matches at 4pm
In addition to the FTC team attending, we are inviting members of the FRC team as well to join us on Saturday. These teams have worked together and have a responsibility in each other's success, the FRC team deserves to share in the reward.
