We are a private homeschool. We are looking to expand and are only teaching out of homes, set up to be learning academies. Our belief that the education offered in the primary years must be just as fulfilling as that which is offered in the collegiate years. To accomplish this, we must take the current spectrum of education and cater it to fit the needs of all children. While most children can thrive in traditional school settings, some do not. CLAS has first made the required class size much smaller, no more than seven (7) students per class. Hence - each student is given the attention, direction, encouragement, and support that is needed to embark on their individual educational journey. Second, we remove the stigma of the minimum age requirement. Setting a timeframe for when a child can begin their educational journey doesn't suit our program. While we, too, believe that "No child should be left behind," our age requirements depends on the need and abilities of that child. Not every child that turns 5yrs of age, is suited for Kindergarten. Some are academically beyond that stage and should not be placed in a traditional Kindergarten setting, with a traditional Kindergarten curriculum, simply because of their age. CLAS, provides the Kindergarten atmosphere for these overachievers, but with a more advanced curriculum. Finally, while the large hallways, cafeterias, and instuitional-like setting may be what older students prefer, CLAS feels that a more homelike feel removes the anxiety of going to "school" and feels more like "learning with friends." What does CLAS offer? CLAS offers students:
