Urban Farm Leader Internship
Solar System Co-op | Pittsburgh, PA:

Tend to the land at Solar System Co-op where you'll design and map the 1/3 acre garden spaces for the 2026 growing season. This includes bottomlining plantings, regularly tending to the garden spaces like watering, protection from pests, etc., and harvesting. This is a good internship position for someone looking to expand their experience in urban farming/gardening/agricultural practices, particularly as it relates to feeding a large group of people

Cooperation Gumbo Research Internship
Cooperation New Orleans | New Orelans, LA (Remote):

Join Cooperation New Orleans in their cultural organizing project, “Cooperation Gumbo”, focusing on hosting story circles, walking tours, and interviews while conducting community-driven research into the cooperative histories of the city and region. You’ll be reviewing existing research documentation, organizing with the archive developer, pursuing leads on follow up research, participating in working group meetings, and supporting the team! Intern should be a curious self-starter, interested in Black, Brown and Indigenous cooperative histories and practices in the US South.

New Member Experience Internship
College Houses | Austin, TX:

Work with College Houses staff, elected leaders, and one other intern to tend to the annual process of preparing the co-ops' rooms for turnover. This will include room inspections of vacant rooms, creating notes for maintenance & cleaning crews, maintaining up to date lists of room vacancy status, and giving tours of the co-ops when needed.

Create & implement marketing strategies & advertising materials that excite the general public about CSI's affordable senior housing communities; learning & understanding the community & creating a marketing strategy that focuses on low-income and seniors; community outreach & networking efforts; conduct tours, assist with open houses; work cooperatively with co-op volunteers; help CSI promote corporate social media sites, and more!

As an Internship Host, NASCO staff supports you through the process, assisting with internship design, candidate matching, and ongoing guidance throughout the summer while your intern(s) contribute to meaningful projects and build hands-on skills in governance, organizing, finance, and operations.

Institute brings together co-op leaders for a weekend of strategy, skill-sharing, and connection. But not everyone can afford to attend, that’s why our Low-Income Scholarship Fund exists.

Last year, we gave out $7,881 in scholarships—nearly draining the fund. This year, we need to raise $8,000 by September 1 to meet the need.

🍲 $25 covers meals for one co-oper
🚐 $50 helps with gas or bus tickets
🚂 $75 supports travel for a nearby co-oper
✈️ $150 supports long-distance travel
👤 $285 covers full registration
👥 $500 helps fund multiple scholarships
