Today marks the beginning of my 11th year working with Joan!
I can’t believe it’s been a decade together. Over the years she’s amazed me with the wide range of music she's been interested in learning - everything from major classical repertoire to jazz and old pop tunes. I've coached her chamber music duo and helped her with recital performances. Beyond the music, our friendship has become something I treasure deeply, and I feel so grateful to know her.

Here we are performing a duet together at my studio's adult student recital back in 2020!

After 30-Year Break From School, This Sax-Playing South Side Grandpa Is Set To Graduate Frank Logan spent years believing school was out of reach until a major life change presented him the chance to try again. He's graduating from Harold Washington College in May.

LEARN HOW: Music Theory and Ear Training
***An easy way to get some practice in on the train!***

This is a great resource for everyone from beginners learning to read music to advanced players wanting to improvise and transcribe easily. I often direct students to the Note Identification as well as the Interval and Chord Ear Training exercises. You can customize each to fit what you're working on, such as recognizing a few key intervals by ear (5th, 4th, 3rd, octave) or reading notes above and below the staff more easily.
