She has spent the last few years growing her corporate career, while simultaneously garnering her passion for building a brand to help professionals around the world. Since 2017 Nkechi has inspired and empowered more than 16000 professionals to embrace their natural hair and personal style at work. Her brand also focuses on providing career advice and tips to help people progress and navigate in professional spaces.

She takes great pleasure in assisting her clients on their natural hair journey, always aiming to create the perfect look that aligns with their goals while prioritizing the health of their hair.
Lakers, meet our third panelist Michelle ”MiMi” Matthews who is the founder and Restorative Career Strategist of Boss Up & Hustle Consulting, a consulting firm that assists individuals and organizations drive results by resolving energy deficits that contribute to low employee retention, burnout, and decreased productivity. Michelle began her career in the career advancement industry as a part-time resume writer in 2017. She amassed over $500K in combined salary increases working with professionals by the start of 2019. With this venture proving to be successful, she then joined the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches and got certified as professional career coach at Boss Up & Hustle Consulting.
Michelle has had the pleasure of delivering keynotes and trainings with various non-profits and higher education organizations. She has been published by indeed.com, Business Insider, LinkedIn News, and more. Her most notable contributions highlight the importance of salary negotiation, job search strategy, and career mapping. Michelle is currently working on her first professional development book based on personal experience and client case studies. She is also the host of The Happy, Healing, & HigherEd Podcast. Michelle graduated from Roosevelt University with a Master’s in Business Administration. She has two young sons that she enjoys spending time with and you can bet that she has a book in her possession at any given time.
Lakers, as we prepare for our 2nd annual Women on the Move: Respect the Crown event, we would like to take the time to introduce you to our panelists. Meet our first panelist, Natasha L. Robinson, Esq. who is the creator and curator of Legaleaze Please! LLC, an online platform and digital space founded in May 2020, that empowers the development of individual and collective comprehension of criminal laws, cases, and policies through decoding, deconstructing, and demystifying legal language. Legaleaze Please!, a Black-owned business created by a Black woman, provides relevant knowledge to legal information as well as equitable access for all users to understand and apply in their everyday lives.
Natasha is also an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at Roosevelt University. Formerly an Assistant Teaching Professor of Criminal Justice at Roosevelt University, she taught courses relating to Criminal Justice and was a faculty member of the Government, Law and Justice Department. Before coming to Roosevelt, Professor Robinson was a teacher at Chicago Public Schools, teaching law courses, including Criminal Law and Criminology, to high school students enrolled in the honors program. For six years, in addition to teaching, she also coached her high school students in preparation for criminal and civil mock trial exhibitions and competitions. Professor Robinson has been a licensed criminal defense attorney for more than 20 years, having served for twelve and a half years as an assistant public defender of Cook County, specializing in the representation of indigent clients charged with felony crimes.
Natasha is a regular guest legal analyst on CourtTV and WGN9 news and is a former monthly contributor to The Soultown Magazine.
Natasha earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Iowa, her Master of Arts in English from Chicago State University, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
Of all her accomplishments, accolades, and awards, “Grace’s Mama” is the most amazing of them all. Professor Robinson is the proud mother to Grace Corrine and together they are each other’s partner in life and in love.
