Meet Amber: Lead Tutor Extraordinaire :-)

Amber, Workshop Coordinator

Hello there, my name is Amber Richardson! I am an honors senior student at Roosevelt University majoring in psychology with a minor in sociology. I am a lead tutor and one of the workshop coordinators at the Roosevelt Writing Center. I was born and raised on the West side of Chicago by my mother and older sister.

I love hanging out with my little cousin and nephew, playing video games, going out with my friends, writing, and movies (if I am not too busy critiquing the movie- I was a film and theater major at Illinois State University). I love Japanese anime and horror, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Ring movies! My favorite subjects are English and Biology. I have a dog named Shado (pitbull and Black Lab mixed). And of course, I am also a Marvel and DC fan!

If you need help with writing, you can find me at the writing center or library on Mondays and Tuesdays, and online on Saturdays waiting for your request. There you and I will work as a team to tackle anything you want from ideas, to papers, to presentations. Not only will we work on your paper, most of all we will work together to help you become a better writer!

Reading a Poem: 20 Strategies 11/07/2015

"As your ability to read poems improves, so will your ability to read the news, novels, legal briefs, advertisements, etc. A Starbucks poster a few years ago read: Friends are like snowflakes…each one is unique. How true. But isn’t snow also cold and ephemeral? Let’s hope our friends are not."
